Advocacy Center
Regardless of who you are and your level prior political experience, there are concrete actions you can take to make sure that the Community Regeneration, Sustainability, and Innovation Act of 2009 (CRSI) becomes a reality. Below we have listed some things you can do to advocate on behalf of CRSI and an older industrial cities national policy agenda. You can click on each suggestion for detailed instructions. And if you run into complications at any point or would guidance, feel free to contact us.
- Write a letter to your representative and/or senators asking them to be cosponsors, thanking them for being cosponsors (depending on their position on the bill), or asking them to push for a hearing on CRSI if they are a member of the Financial Services Committee (the committee to which the bill has been referred).
- Schedule a meeting with your representative and/or senators.
- Encourage your city government to pass a resolution in support of CRSI.
- If you are part of an organization, you can do the following:
- Encourage your organization to adopt CRSI/an older industrial cities national policy agenda.
- Add your organization’s name to the CRSI sign-on letter by contacting us.
Please be sure to contact us and let us know about your visits, letters, and other steps you have taken.
