Relationship Mapping

A vital component of any sophisticated organizing strategy is to understand the existing relationships among organizations and congressional representatives. As such, the next step in our approach is to map the networks between organizations and institutions to better understand how support can be garnered at the national, state, regional, and local levels. An understanding of Community Organizing Projects will be essential as they have the ability to build grassroots support, thus providing momentum to move the legislation through congress, while Community Development Projects will provide support both through their own organizations and through the organizations they support. Finally, relationships will need to be fostered among target representatives who will be able to influence other members of congress, thus expanding our network of support.
